Phase One

Ideating

In order to encapsulate that feeling and experience towards gamers, both those who play League of Legends or not, I wanted to create an atmospheric venue that compares that of a packed stadium, to the great experiences you can have while at home. For inspiration I looked to previous animations done by the Riot Games team along with styling found in isometric 3D art and sporting event photography.

Phase Two

Modeling

The hardest part of the project for me was modeling the pieces for the project. While some smaller pieces such as monitors and chairs were outsourced, most parts for the project needed to be created from scratch. Creating an environment that truly captures the feeling of an esports event was the biggest focus, leading me to put most of the focus into the atmosphere and background rather than the forefront or subject of the camera.

Phase Three

Revising

Exploring Cinema 4D along with the 3D medium in this project was mostly new to me and proved to be a challenge as I learned and developed my skills as a motion designer.

Some of the biggest struggles for me through this process was optimizing the project in order to complete renders by deadlines without sacrificing quality or message.

 After revisiting and revising the project I focused on improving the overall message and honing in on details and post-production edits.
